What is UGC, and how is it different from influencing?+

UGC (user-generated content) is a video or photo you make for a brand to use on their own channels, like ads, their website or their social pages. You get paid for the content itself, not for your audience.

Influencing is when a brand pays you to post to your followers. Your reach is what they’re buying.

Why it matters: UGC means you can start getting paid with a small following, or none at all. Many creators do both, and Creator24 has deals for each.

Build a portfolio before your first deal+

Brands want to see what you can make before they pay you. If you don’t have brand work yet, make it.

  • Pick 3–5 products you already own and love.
  • Make one video per product, each in a different style: an unboxing, a review, a how-to, a problem → solution.
  • Keep each one 15–45 seconds, vertical (9:16), with a strong first 3 seconds.
  • Put them in your Creator24 media kit and pin your best one first.

These are called spec videos. They’re the fastest way to show brands you’re ready.

Your phone is enough: a simple setup that looks pro+
  • Light: face a window. Soft daylight beats any ring light.
  • Sound: film in a quiet room with soft furnishings. A cheap clip-on mic is the best upgrade you can buy.
  • Stability: prop your phone up or use a small tripod.
  • Format: vertical 9:16, back camera, and wipe the lens first.
  • Background: clean and on-brand. Declutter what’s in frame.

Hooks that stop the scroll+

You have about 3 seconds before someone swipes. Open with one of these:

  • The problem: “If your lipstick always fades by lunch…”
  • The result first: show the after, then explain how.
  • The bold claim: “This is the only moisturiser I’ve repurchased.”
  • The POV: “POV: you finally found jeans that fit.”
  • The question: “Why is nobody talking about this?”

Stuck? Ask Creator24’s AI Manager for hook ideas for any brief.

The 6 UGC formats brands buy most+
  • Unboxing: first impressions as you open it.
  • Review / testimonial: talk to camera about why you like it.
  • Problem → solution: show the pain, then the product fixing it.
  • How-to / demo: walk through using it.
  • Get ready with me: the product as part of your routine.
  • Before / after: only show real results, never exaggerate.

Offering 2–3 formats in one pitch gives brands more reasons to say yes.

How to price your work+

Start with a base rate per video, then charge separately for extras: usage rights, exclusivity, raw footage, extra revisions and posting to your own page.

Not sure what to charge? Ask the AI Manager, or read our full guide: How to price your first UGC deal.

Usage rights and whitelisting, in plain English+
  • Organic usage: the brand posts your video on its own pages.
  • Paid usage: the brand runs your video as an ad. This is worth more.
  • Whitelisting: the brand runs ads from your account. Charge extra and set an end date.
  • Duration: always set a time limit, like 30 or 90 days. Be careful with “in perpetuity” (forever).

More usage, longer duration or more channels means a higher price.

Contracts and getting paid+

Before you film anything, get these in writing:

  • Deliverables: how many videos, how long, what format
  • Deadline and number of revisions
  • Usage rights and duration
  • Payment amount, due date and method
  • What happens if the brand cancels (a kill fee)

Send your invoice as soon as you deliver. Creator24 can review a contract, write a simple one, and make and chase invoices for you. Creator24 never takes a cut of your deal.

Disclosing paid content+

If a brand pays you or gives you free product and you post about it, most countries require you to say so clearly. Use the platform’s paid partnership label and a clear #ad at the start of your caption.

Rules vary by country, so check the guidance from your local advertising regulator.

Using Creator24

Questions about the app

Getting started

Is Creator24 free?+

Yes. Your deal feed, explore, brand alerts, media kit, AI Manager and 3 pitches a month are free. Pro is $14 USD a month for unlimited pitches.

Do I need a big following?+

No. Many deals, especially UGC, have no follower minimum. Brands are paying for your content, not your audience.

How do I change my niche or platforms?+

Open the Me tab and tap Edit. Change your primary niche, add or update your handle for each platform, and save. To link a social account so its numbers refresh on their own, tap the gear on the Me tab, then Connected accounts.

Pitching

How does AI pitching work?+

Pick up to 8 brands and AI writes a separate, personal pitch for each one in your voice. Nothing sends until you approve it.

How do I connect Gmail or Outlook?+

Open the Me tab, tap the gear, then Mailboxes and signature. Tap Connect next to Gmail or Outlook and sign in to that account. Pitches and follow-ups then send from your own address, so brands reply straight to your inbox. Connect both and you can pick which one sends.

Does Creator24 follow up for me?+

Yes. The AI can send follow-up emails to brands that haven’t replied. Open a sent pitch in Deals and tap Set up a follow-up. Pick a day, from 1 to 14 days away, write a short note or tap Draft with AI, then Schedule. It goes out that morning from the same mailbox, and if the brand replies first, it doesn’t send. To turn one off, open the pitch and tap Cancel follow-up.

A brand replied. What now?+

Reply quickly, ideally within a day. Ask for their budget and the brief, then confirm the details in writing. The AI Manager can help you write the reply.

Brand alerts

How do I follow a brand?+

Pick brands when you sign up, or tap Follow on any brand page.

I’m not getting alerts+

Check notifications are turned on for Creator24 in your phone settings. Then, in the app, tap the gear on the Me tab, then Notifications, and make sure “A brand you follow opens a brief” is on. Alerts only come from brands you follow, at most one per brand a day, and any that land in your quiet hours arrive when they end. Still nothing? Email team@scout24.help.

Pro and billing

What does Pro include?+

Everything in Free, plus unlimited pitches, for $14 USD a month.

How does the Pro guarantee work?+

No brand conversation in your first month of Pro? Your next month is free. To claim, email team@scout24.help within 30 days of the end of your first Pro month, and we’ll send you a code for a free month.

How do I cancel Pro?+

Cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions. Pro stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for.

Do you take a cut of my deals?+

No. Every dollar a brand pays you is yours.

Account and privacy

How do I delete my account?+

Open the Me tab, tap the gear, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account. Type DELETE to confirm. This can’t be undone. If you pay for Pro through the App Store or Google Play, cancel it there too. Can’t get into the app? Email team@scout24.help from your account’s email address and we’ll delete it for you.

What do you access in my inbox?+

Only what’s needed to send your pitches and follow-ups and spot brand replies. See our Privacy Policy.
